The first camera I had was a Brownie from Mom and Dad, to use at Girl
Scout Camp Singing Hills when I was 8 years old! That was 50 years
ago! Oh, my! I saved my camping experiences through pictures and
collages, making a beautiful album depicting 8 lovely years. Sadly,
that album was lost! However, I’ve enjoyed saving photographic family
memories within scrapbooks for decades, and more recently through the
art form of altered books. Because sewing, painting, doodling and
drawing, beadwork, making collages, and photography have always
interested me, I consider myself a Multi-media Artist.
Since
retiring in 2005 as a Teacher, Helping Teacher, and Student Teacher
Supervisor, I’ve had the privilege and blessing of being able to
travel around the country, as well as in Europe, the Eastern and
Western Caribbean, and in Mexico. I’ve traveled with family, with
friends, and most recently alone. My camera has been clicking away!
My goal at Spectrum Gallery is to meet others who desire to express
themselves through photography and other Arts, to meet to meet those
of you who want to see the Gallery Exhibits, and to be where sharing
and encouraging each other in the Arts is part of the cooperative
experience. Spectrum was beloved by our family when our boys were
small, and it’s very cool to be back within this network myself!
In addition to Spectrum Gallery, I now have an art studio with my
adult children, at the Racine Business Center, 1515 16th
Street, Racine, WI. I am setting up my corresponding website at
www.wildbloomarts.com.
It should be up and running by the end of spring 2008. You might like
to check out

where I will occasionally journal and add my photos. Have fun
exploring our Gallery site here as well! You can email me here at

Namaste!

I am a firm believer that we can create a more peaceful world
through the Arts. All the ARTS - theater, singing, instrumental
music, painting, designing, photography and so much more - make
this world a better place where we can enjoy our time, our
connections, and share our creations. By encouraging and
engaging in artistic expression, we are maximizing our
contentment, and I believe we help create a more PEACEFUL WORLD.
